Hint #1 How were the messages hidden in the book? The messages are completely separate from the story. Letters in the message appear exactly as they do in the text, but they are dispersed through the story. The key to unlocking the messages is knowing where to start and how to link the pieces together. Hint #2 Follow the trail. A path has been laid for you to follow. Start with two clues on the website, one obvious, one not. Read the book once, maybe twice. The text will direct you where to start and the clues will help you piece the message together. Hint #3 How can I find a message in over 300 pages? You need to follow the clues to the starting place. Pay attention to CJ and you will learn where to go within the book. Then, the interval is the key. Start with the likely intervals in any novel: Chapter Section Paragraph Sentence Word Character Consider the following sentence: Sin and Vengeance reads addictively through several ill-advised upheavals. (answer at very bottom of page.) Hint #4 Author Appearances If you are serious about finding the messages, attend a book signing! You can also request a book plate by emailing authors(at)22wb.com. Hint #5 How to find a clue on this site. Get to know CJ on this site. There is a code included on CJ's bio page. If you solve it, email your answer to us and we'll get your name on the leader board. More importantly, the code will help you decode the first message in the book! Hint #6 Get a subscription to 22 West Express! CJ gives hints through the newsletter and the only way to get them is to be a subscriber. You can subscribe to the newsletter in the footer of any page on our website! It also never hurts to email a question. If you ask the right question you might be surprised at what you get in return.
