Volume III, Edition 2 October 2008 |
Hello Readers, A Demon Awaits is here! The book has been released on Amazon and there's something new this year. Bev from Bev Loves Books has agreed to sell signed books. If you'd like a signed book, you can call Bev at (508) 763-5503. She's agreed to keep them in stock so you can call her anytime. Your orders will help a great lady keep a small bookstore alive. Of course if you're in the Wrentham area, I'm glad to sign a book anytime you can find me. Someone online wrote to me yesterday that it would be cool to hear my voice. I forget sometimes that I know lots of you only electronically or through the pages of my books. If you'd like to talk with me, I'll be on Blog Talk Radio on November 3. You can listen, call in or chat and send questions electronically. I hope you'll join us. If that's not enough... Next week I'll be having a first. I'm taping for Creatively Speaking, a local cable television show hosted by Darlene Arden. Those of you who know me can imagine how nervous I'll be. I've been practicing with my daughter the budding TV star and we might put some outtakes on Youtube. I'll let you know if we do. The show will air the first week of November in Framingham, Massachusetts and hopefully later in Wrentham and Rochester, Massachusetts as well. If you'd like to see the show in your area, most local access cable stations allow you to sponsor a show. It doesn't cost anything, but does require a little paperwork and coordination to get the show to air. If you are interested in this, please contact me via email and maybe we can get the show on where you live. If you haven't read the first chapter of A Demon Awaits yet, here's your chance. I hope you'll enjoy the transformation in Randy Black.
And the winners are... The winner of the September drawing is Sandy from Springdale, Arizona. Congratulations! You've won a copy of Taking Stock. There is a running list of winners on the contest page if you're ever curious to know who's winning all those books.

A few book groups have asked about a winery tour of Westport Rivers Winery the setting for Sin and Vengeance. I thought the tour sounded like a fun event, so we planned it to coincide with the Launch Party this year. Rob Russell, one of the owners of the winery, who also happens to be the vineyard manager, will be giving us the tour. He's a great guy and extremely knowledgeable about vineyard operations and winemaking. Rob was my most significant source of information about winemaking when I wrote Sin and Vengeance. Rob will be leading a tour of the vineyard and the processing, aging and storage areas. The tour will be followed by a tasting. The entire event should last about 2 hours and as of now we have a group of 20 people registered to attend. For those of you attending the Proctor Mansion Launch Party, some guests will be staying overnight after the launch and carpooling to the winery the next day. Here are the details for the winery tour: Sunday, November 9, 1:45 pm
New Website Look With every book release comes a new look for the website. This is borne of my twin desires to keep busy while the pre-readers are reading and to bring you a sleeker, faster, better site each year. I think you'll find this year's page loads faster and I'm betting you'll like the color scheme. Please click over and take a look.
I have a series of book signings scheduled on Saturdays through December 13. In the coming months I'll be adding dates in March, April and May. I've had a number of requests from readers to schedule events all over the country. Unfortunately, this year's events will be limited to New England. If you have a favorite store in New England and would like to meet me there in the spring, please drop me a note and I'll try to arrange a date.
The first official event will be October 25 in Hanover, Massachusetts. Tour photos will begin appearing soon after. The Launch Party is scheduled for November 8 and I expect to have dozens of pictures loaded soon after.
Thanks for reading.
