Hello Readers,

A Demon Awaits is almost here. The book will be released on Amazon on October15th!

Sin and Vengeance showed us Randy Black out of control. He'd lost his parents and he was ready to make the Marston family pay no matter the personal cost to himself or anyone that interfered. You've told me that you love the crazy and sometimes twisted things he does. Some of you grew to hate him and even wanted him killed off.

It's time to show you some of his redeeming qualities.

A Demon Awaits picks up the action from the last page of Sin and Vengeance. When we last saw Randy, he was on Charlie Marston's lawn, surrounded by cops. Officer Pinto is desperate to get even and he is leading the charge, nightstick in hand.

The early feedback from pre-readers has been fabulous. I think this book will have you riveted as Randy rushes to save himself in this world and the next. It'll also get you talking about redemption and the challenges that living in our world brings.

If you've read Sin and Vengeance, I think A Demon Awaits will read as if it were the second half of a larger book. My next few books will continue to follow Randy's exploits and his struggle.  I hope you'll enjoy them.

The first chapter of A Demon Awaits is available online now.

And the winners are...

The winner of the August drawing is Nancy Eckert. Congratulations! You've won a copy of Taking Stock.

There is a running list of winners on the contest page if you're ever curious to know who's winning all those books.

Sin and Vengeance Movie Update

If you haven't already heard, a small production company, owned by Marla Cukor, optioned the film rights to Sin and Vengeance early this year. The screenplay has been through a number of iterations and right now I'm feeling great about Marla's work.

In June, several readers got a special treat. They were the first to read the screenplay and afterward, they came to my house to talk with the screenwriter and tell her what they thought. The meeting was a terrific success. Many thanks to Frank, Pam, Theresa, Brenda, Jady, Paul, Sherri, Kerilynn and Luke. They all pitched in great ideas and really helped push the script along.

I received some great news this morning as I was drafting the newsletter... Movies, like books, are represented by agents and managers. This morning I read the report of an analyst who studied Sin and Vengeance for his agency. The report was fantastic. He graded the script as excellent and ready to be pitched to studios. That process should begin soon if it hasn't already!

Hopefully, I'll have some really good news for you all soon!

New Website Look

With every book release comes a new look for the website. This is borne of my twin desires to keep busy while the pre-readers are reading and to bring you a sleeker, faster, better site each year.

I think you'll find this year's page loads faster and I'm betting you'll like the color scheme.

Please click over and take a look.

Events

I'm in the process of scheduling book signings and events, but I wanted to let you know about a special event this year.

I will be at Westport Rivers Vineyard and Winery on November 9th. A number of area readers and friends will be going to the winery where the action in Sin and Vengeance takes place. We will be taking a private winery tour, sipping sparkling, and talking about the book and the movie.

If you'd like to join us, please contact me for details.
